Answers ....

1.(d) 2Pi rh/(2Pi rh+2Pi r^2 )=1/2
  h/(h+r)=1/2, h=r
2Pi rh+2Pi r^2=616
4Pi r^2 = 616
r ^2 = 49
    r = 7
Volume = Pi r^2 h = 22/7  × 7×7  ×7 = 1078

2.(b) Let MP = 100, cp = 70
SP = 70 * 140/100 =98
Lose % = 2%

3.(c) 1st discount = 10%
Price after discount = 72 – 72 = 648
2nd  discount = 748 – 550.8 = 97.2
Discount = 15%

4.(b) CP = 900
SP = 900 * 125/100
MP = 900 * 125/100 * 100/90
= 1250

5.(b) A : B : C : D = 1/3 :  ¼ : 1/5 : 1/6
= 20 : 15 : 12 : 10
Required = 20 + 15 + 12+10 = 57

6.(c) 3A = B + C + D
4A = A + B + C + D, A = 60/4 = 15
3B = A + C + D
4B = A + B + C + D, B = 60/4 = 15
4C = A + C + D
5C = A + B + C + D, C = 60/5 = 12
D = 60 – (15 + 15 + 12) = 60-32=18

7.(c) Let Required average = x
52 = (20*80 + 25 * 31 + 55 * x)/100 = 51.36

8.(d) Let teacher age be x
15(14 + 1) = x + 14 * 14
X = 29

9.(a) 5 kg = 10% of 270
1 kg = 27/5 = 5.4
Original price = (5.4 * 100)/90 = 6
Difference = 6 – 5.4
= 0.6
